GRAND PRAIRIE CELEBRATES ARBOR DAY APRIL 26
GRAND PRAIRIE—The city of Grand Prairie has moved its Arbor Day celebration on Friday, April 26, 10 a.m.-noon, to The Summit, 2975 Esplanade. More than 350 students will attend this celebration from the Grand Prairie Independent School District’s Crockett 5th Grade Center. Free trees will be available while supplies last.
The City of Grand Prairie has been a Tree City USA for 28 years. The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the Texas A&M Forest Service, the USDA Forest Service, the International Society of Arboriculture and the Society of American Foresters. To maintain Tree City USA status, Grand Prairie meets four standards including having a tree board or department, a tree care ordinance, a comprehensive community forestry program and an Arbor Day observance.
