GRAND PRAIRIE—The pets at Prairie Paws animal shelter, 2222 W. Warrior Trail, are in pursuit of life, liberty and happiness. To help them secure these unalienable rights, their human guardians have decided to make it easier for them to find forever homes by lowering the price required for their freedom. During the “IndePETdence” adoption special from July1-5 (the shelter will be closed Friday, July 4), dogs will be $20, kittens will be $5, and cats aged 1-year-and older will be FREE. Regular price adoptions are $70. Celebrate your liberty by granting freedom to a homeless pet. All adopters who tweet a freedom picture of their new pets with the hashtag “PrairiePaws” will receive a free goodie bag.
All animals will be micro-chipped and will receive 5-in-1 and kennel cough vaccinations for dogs and the 3-in-1 FVRCP vaccination for cats. All adult dogs will be heartworm tested. Those wishing to adopt must complete an application and be approved before receiving their pets, and they must provide proof of rabies vaccine and spay or neuter within 30 days of the adoption. Up to two pets per household may be adopted. This offer is valid only for new adoptions.
The Prairie Paws Animal Shelter will be closed Friday, July 4. Regular operating hours are:
Closed Sunday and Monday
Tuesday-Friday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (closed noon – 1 p.m.)
