Grand Prairie will host the first ever North Texas Honor Guard Competition on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at South Grand Prairie High School. Honor Guards from around the state will compete in events demonstrating their skills in military bearing, precision drill and uniform appearance.
The competition – open to a public audience – will feature Uniform Inspection, Presentation of the Colors, Flag Folding, and a Precision Drill Exhibition. Judges will rank each unit according to the U.S. Military Drill and Ceremonies Manual.
To donate or participate as a sponsor, please contact Sgt. David Rhodes at drhodes@gptx.org or Officer Greg Parker at gparker@gptx.org. Donations help defray the costs of the event and raise money for the local chapter of COPS (Concerns of Police Survivors).
