What is Freegal?
Freegal is a downloadable music service that offers hundreds of thousands of songs in over 100 genres of music. Downloads are MP3s with no DRM. Songs will work with any MP3 player, including iPods, and can be loaded into iTunes.
How Freegal Music Works:
All you need to use Freegal is your Grand Prairie Public Library card. Freegal is free to cardholders.
Click here to get started. Once you tell us your name, library card #, and email, we will provide that information to Freegal, and they will email you a password.
Once you have your password, click to access Freegal.
You may download 3 songs per week. Your counter will set back to zero each week, Monday morning. Then you can download three more tunes during the new week.
Every song has a sample clip you can listen to before you download.
Library cards are free, even to non-residents. Cards are available at the Circulation Desk of any Grand Prairie Library.
Freegal is provided by the Friends of the Grand Prairie Library.
