PRAIRIE LIGHTS DISPLAY EXTENDED THROUGH JANUARY 5, 2014
Prairie Lights powered by Gexa Energy, 5610 Lake Ridge Parkway, Grand Prairie, Texas, has extended its last day to Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014.
“With Thanksgiving being so late this year and the days we lost due to the ice storm, our patrons are clamoring for more nights of lights,” said Event Manager Beverly Grogan. “So, we will continue operations through Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014.”
The always-popular two-mile drive featuring four million lights that drew 168,000 visitors in 2012, is better than ever in 2013 with all new custom displays. Prairie Lights powered by Gexa Energy will be open from 6-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday non-holidays and 6-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday and holidays, now-Jan. 5. Non-holiday Monday through Thursday, cars are $20. Holidays and Friday through Sunday, cars are $30, which includes Dec. 24, Dec. 25, Dec. 31 and Jan 1. Rates for larger vehicles vary. Check www.prairielights.org for rates or call 972-237-GLOW (4569).
The theme park also offers a unique out-of-car experience in Holiday Village midway through the drive with concessions, carnival rides and gifts. Photos with Santa start at $10 through Dec. 23. For an additional $5/adult and $3/child, guests will enjoy Holiday Happiness, an all-new crackling-with-joy 15-minute musical show featuring holiday song and spirit performed by the talented professional actors and singers of the Texas Family Musicals who dance up a winter snowstorm, delivering a blizzard of laughs through Dec. 31. The always-popular Holiday Magic Walk-Through Forest, for an additional $3/adult and $2/child, is so full of lights all will be amazed.
Designer and light engineer Josh Barnett, and his company Lightasmic!, deliver displays that have audiences smiling in delight with clever new themes and favorites presented with a new look.
