The Grand Prairie Police Department has two officers that are currently certified to perform Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) inspections on commercial motor vehicles. These officers conduct traffic enforcement related to commercial vehicles, applying both Texas state law and Federal DOT laws to keep unsafe trucks off our highways. This highly successful program has been in Grand Prairie since 2007 and our officers are viewed as some of the best nationwide. As part of the Grand Prairie Police Department's commitment to partnering with motor carriers, we are proud to be members of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance and the Dallas Fort Worth Council of Safety Professionals.
