Audience members will be stunned by the powerful musical drama, His Eye is on the Sparrow, the heart-wrenching tale of Ethel Waters, Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The show will be performed at Grand Prairie’s Uptown Theater, 120 E. Main St.
Tickets range from $14-$33. The Texas Family Musicals (TFM) performance is filled with sassy suggestive music from the early 1920s performed in blues and jazz venues like the legendary Cotton Club. The show boasts uplifting gospel songs and showcases more than 15 songs from Frankie and Johnny and the 1933 Rudy Vallee/Hoagy Charmichael classic, Old Man Harlem.
TFM is a non-profit organization with the mission of producing quality family-friendly Broadway-style musicals while helping launch careers of young professionals in musical theater. Everyone involved with TFM is actively pursuing a career in theater.
