The Uptown Theater, 120 E. Main St., is bringing family friendly Trout Fishing in America to the theater for one night only Thursday, April 4, at 8 p.m.
Trout Fishing in America is the long-standing musical partnership of Keith Grimwood and Ezra Idlet. The two have been writing, recording and performing together for three decades. The two met as members of the Houston based folk/rock band St. Elmo’s Fire. When the band dissolved in 1979, Grimwood and Idlet formed Trout Fishing in America.
Trout Fishing in America was in the first wave of artists to successfully record and market their own music with their label Trout Records. Their infectious mix of folk/pop and family friendly music derives influence from a variety of musical styles including reggae, Latin, blues, jazz and classical. Over the years they have earned three National Indie Awards and multiple Parents Choice Gold and American Library awards as well as four Grammy nominations.
Adult tickets for this family friendly concert start at $15 and go up to $20, children’s tickets start at $13 and go up to $18. They can be purchased at www.uptowntheatergp.com or by calling 972-237-8786.
