Texas author Susan Wittig Albert visits the Grand Prairie Main Library at 2 pm on Sunday, May 19 for a talk and booksigning.

A former university English professor, Susan became a full-time writer in 1985. Her fiction books range from Victorian mysteries written with her husband (writing together under the name Robin Paige), to the 1930s Darling Dahlias series, to the modern-day China Bayles mysteries. Working together, the Alberts have also written over 60 young adult novels, including books Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series.

She has also written several nonfiction works on the topic of memoirs.

Susan says that she "grew up rural" and is proud to claim farming in her family heritage. She continues to live the rural life with Bill in the Texas Hill Country, where she writes, gardens, and raises a varying assortment of barnyard creatures. She has three children, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Some books will be available for purchase.

Also in May, the Main Library hosts the traveling exhibit Texas Writers. The display provides an overview of the literary accomplishments of Texas writers in a series of panels featuring portraits of authors, books, workplaces, narrative settings, and evocative quotations. Texas Writers is an exhibition produced by Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The Grand Prairie Main Library is located at 901 Conover Drive.
