Library Fines are Due
Large fines soon to be turned over to collection agency
Posted Date: 3/3/2014

Grand Prairie library patrons with fines, fees or unreturned material have until May 1, 2014 to resolved their accounts or be turned over to a collection agency.

The library is offering an opportunity to resolve those outstanding balances now so that a person’s account does not go to collection.

To clear an account, simply:

  • Check your account online at www.gptx.org/library using your library card number and PIN to see if you owe money or have unreturned material, or call any of the three libraries in Grand Prairie.
  • Pay Online
  • Pay in full, return past due material or establish a payment plan at any Grand Prairie library.

"We have about 5,000 customers who owe around $400,000," said Amy Sprinkles, Communications and Libraries Director. "That is a lot of taxpayer money that needs to be collected. The more we collect, the greater the number of books, e-books and services we can offer."

If you have questions, visit one of your Grand Prairie libraries, call 972-237-5700 during office hours, or email gplibrary@gptx.org.
