GRAND PRAIRIE—Grand Prairie baseball has gone to the dogs! The Grand Prairie Animal Shelter, 2222 W. Warrior Tr., is working with the AirHogs to find loving homes for adoptable pets. During the ‘Hogs for Dogs’ adoption special from July17-19, dogs will be $30, kittens will be $5, and cats aged 1-year-and older will be FREE. Adopters can bring in an AirHogs ticket for an additional $10 off the dog adoption fee. Further, the Waggin’ Wagon, Grand Prairie’s transportable adoption trailer, will be full of adoptable pets at QuikTrip Park, 1600 Lone Star Parkway, on Friday, July 18 to celebrate Dog Day and cheer on the AirHogs as they battle it out against Quebec. Patrons are invited to bring their dogs to the stadium, and the AirHogs will donate $1 from the sale of all July 18 tickets to Prairie Paws.
Regular price adoptions are $70. This fee includes a microchip, spay or neuter, rabies vaccination, flea treatment, the 5-in-1 and kennel cough vaccinations for dogs and the 3-in-1 FVRCP vaccination for cats. All adult dogs will be heartworm tested. Those wishing to adopt must complete an application and be approved before receiving their pets. Up to two pets per household may be adopted. This offer is valid only for new adoptions.
