Petting Zoo at Farmers Market Aug. 3

The Grand Prairie Farmers Market is getting a little wild with a petting zoo Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Market Square, 120 W. Main St.

Farmers Market runs 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and the petting zoo will be open 9 a.m.-noon. Take a walk on the wild side with chickens, goats, ducks, piglets, a baby cow, sheep and tortoises.

The Grand Prairie Waggin’ Wagon mobile animal adoption trailer will also be on site featuring dogs and cats from the animal shelter available for adoption at $70 each.

The Grand Prairie Farmers Market sells locally grown fruits and vegetables, meats, cheeses, wines, tamales, candles, soaps and much more. The market is open every Saturday, spring through December, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
