LIVES CHANGE @ YOUR LIBRARY SPRING PROGRAM SERIES

Grand Prairie's Warmack Branch Library will kickstart your creativity with a spring program series for adults. A variety of topics will inspire, teach, and inform. Space is limited at all programs, and signup is required for the April 19th session.

The Warmack Branch is part of the Grand Prairie Public Library System. It is located at 760 Bardin Road (at the corner of Bardin and Robinson Roads).

March 15th, 2 - 4 pm. "Beginning Quilting" A seminar session on beginning quilting. All participants will leave with a free quilt pattern. Taught by Debra Holster, member of the Quilters Guild of Arlington and the American Sewing Guild, with 50 years sewing experience. Door prizes!

March 18th, 7 - 8:30 pm. "Flower Bedding" Presented by Home Depot. Instructor will teach how to build a raised cedar flower bed and which Texas native plants do well here. Water conservation will be discussed. Door prizes!

March 25th, 7 - 8:30 pm. "10 Tips to Improve Your Home’s Appearance" Presented by Home Depot. 10 tips on how to get your house ready for an event like a gathering or getting ready to sell your home. Things you can do to increase the appeal of your house will be discussed like how power-wash window screens and how to remove popcorn from ceilings. Door prizes!

April 15th, 7 - 8:30 pm. "Cupcake Decorating" Presented by Dennis Morrison. Cupcake decorating styles and tips, frosting consistency, making your own frosting, and frosting flavors and coloring. Free cupcakes!

April 17th, 7 - 8:30 pm. "Introduction to Digital and Iphone Photography" Presented by Kurt Purdy. The basics of how to operate your camera. Bring your point-and-shoot digital camera, camera phone or smartphone . Includes handouts as a “quick start” guide to refer to later.

April 19th, 2 - 4 pm. "Jewelry Making" Presented by Amanda Purdy. Make your own necklace in this workshop, while you learn about choosing the right kinds of beads, the proper materials to string a piece, and how to use a few simple jewelry-making tools. Get lots of ideas for projects to make on their own, and take home a free necklace! Signup required - class size is limited. Sign up in person, or by calling 972-237-5772.
