Library Fines are Due
Large fines soon to be turned over to collection agency
Posted Date: 3/3/2014

Grand Prairie library patrons with fines, fees or unreturned material have until May 1, 2014 to resolved their accounts or be turned over to a collection agency.

The library is offering an opportunity to resolve those outstanding balances now so that a person’s account does not go to collection.

To clear an account, simply:

  • Check your account online at using your library card number and PIN to see if you owe money or have unreturned material, or call any of the three libraries in Grand Prairie.
  • Pay Online
  • Pay in full, return past due material or establish a payment plan at any Grand Prairie library.

"We have about 5,000 customers who owe around $400,000," said Amy Sprinkles, Communications and Libraries Director. "That is a lot of taxpayer money that needs to be collected. The more we collect, the greater the number of books, e-books and services we can offer."

If you have questions, visit one of your Grand Prairie libraries, call 972-237-5700 during office hours, or email
