Farmers Market, 120 W. Main St., is kicking off the 2013 Holiday Market with Empty Bowls Saturday, Dec. 7, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Elementary, middle and high school students in the Grand Prairie Independent School District selling pottery they’ve made during this semester. Then, fill your handcrafted bowl with delicious soup made by Dubiski High Culinary Art students. Proceeds benefit local charities.
The holiday fun continues Dec. 14 and Dec. 21 with Holiday Market. The Holiday Market is sure to get everyone in the spirit with handcrafted arts and gift items, reindeer games and piñatas. The market closes for the winter season Dec. 28 and will reopen the first Saturday in March 2014.
The Grand Prairie Farmers Market sells locally grown fruits and vegetables, meats, cheeses, wines, tamales, candles, soaps and much more. The market is open every Saturday, March to December, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
