October 2013 – The Grand Prairie Metro Rotary will be conducting their annual 10K Run, 5K run/walk and One Mile Fun Run on Saturday, October 12, 2013. This event will raise money for local Alzheimer’s Research and several other local and international charities.
The race will start and finish in Lynn Creek Park at Lake Joe Pool. Registration starts at 6:30 a.m. and the race will begin with a One Mile Fun Run at 8:00 a.m., rain or shine with the 5K & 10K at 8:30 A.M. The registration fee is $25 for all participants until October 11th. Race Day fee will be $30.
There will be a free pancake breakfast for runners with bibs until the award ceremony. All others are asked to pay $1. Parking is FREE for this event (please identify yourself as a Pumpkin Run Participant), however gates will CLOSE at 8:00 A.M. for the safety of the runners and no entrance or exit will be permitted until 9:45 A.M. so please get to the park early!
There will also be FREE Pumpkin Decorating for the kids & FREE Face Painting. Temporary tattoos will also be available for a $1 donation.
All preregistered runners (by October 4th) are guaranteed a commemorative short-sleeve tee shirt. Additional long-sleeve tee shirts will be available for an additional $20 donation.
