Program Presented by Gaby Kienitz, on "The Lives of Cemeteries"

Our dearly departed may be at rest, but cemeteries, as entities within our communities, are ever-changing. They experience growth, decline, threats to their existence, and renewal. This presentation features the “life stories” of a selection of pioneer cemeteries in Tarrant County, highlighting cemeteries as crucial links to our past, and the need for active intervention and care for their preservation.

Gaby Kienitz has spent her entire working life helping to preserve historic materials and make them more accessible.  She currently works at the Fort Worth Public Library’s History Center as the librarian/archivist, specializing in genealogy, local history and archives.

You will note that the Grand Prairie GS meeting will be in person as well as virtual.

If you are planning to attend the meeting, it will be in the Inspire Room at the Grand Prairie Memorial Library, 901 Conover, Grand Prairie, TX.
