Due to the extreme heat, the City of Grand Prairie has set up cooling centers at various locations.

Construction is underway to repave Carrier Parkway at Fort Worth Street.
Northbound and southbound traffic is detoured to the southbound lanes of Carrier Parkway in this area, while Fort Worth Street east of Carrier Parkway is closed.
This closure is part of the Carrier Parkway repaving project that will be complete in December 2024.
Please watch for detour signs and lane changes and be prepared for slower traffic in this area.
