Make the Holidays Magical for Grand Prairie Kids

Published on November 26, 2024

The City of Grand Prairie and WFAA are teaming up to make sure thousands of local kids and teens have gifts under the tree this year.

WFAA Meteorologist Pete Delkus will broadcast live from the Santa's Helpers drive-through toy drop-off at The Epic December 10.

Help make the holidays magical for kids in need by bringing a new, unwrapped toy or gift between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

If you'd like to donate but can't make it to the live event, The City set up the following donation boxes around town:

  • City Hall (300 W. Main St.)
  • The Parks Arts and Recreation administration building (400 College St.)
  • The Epic (2960 Epic Pl.)
  • The Summit (2975 Esplanade)
  • Main Library (901 Conover Dr.)
  • Warmack Library (760 Bardin Rd.)
  • Dalworth Recreation Center (2012 Spikes St.)
  • Charley Taylor Recreation Center (601 E. Grand Prairie Rd.)
  • Tony Shotwell Life Center (2750 Graham St.)
  • Epic Waters (2970 Epic Pl.)
  • Chicken N Pickle (2965 S. Hwy 161)
  • Bolder Adventure Park (2324 W. Warrior Trail)

The Santa's Helpers toy drive, now in it's 55th year, serves around 60,000 children in Collin, Dallas, Denton and Tarrant counties.  While toys for all ages are appreciated, gifts for teenagers up to 18 are always in need.
