Grand Prairie in the National Spotlight along Coast-to-Coast Roadshow

Grand Prairie’s EpicCentral stole the show Friday as a select stop on the National League of Cities Centennial Roadshow: 100 Years, 100 Cities.
“We are visiting 100 cities for our hundredth anniversary, and I have just not seen anything like this collaboration that’s taking place in Grand Prairie, among the city, among the small businesses, among the community, to have a great place to live, work and play,” said Bryan Griffith, director of member services and engagement for the NLC.
The NLC is comprised of city, town, and village leaders from around the country focused on improving the quality of life for their communities.
Each stop of the roadshow spotlights unique stories and experiences from municipalities across the nation, showcasing the remarkable achievements and contributions of local governments.
“We are thrilled to be chosen as an official stop on the National League of Cities Centennial Roadshow: 100 Years, 100 Cities,” said Grand Prairie Mayor Ron Jensen at Friday’s celebration. “This is a tremendous honor for Grand Prairie and a testament to the significance of our City's contributions to the fabric of American local governance.”
On Friday NLC leaders got a taste of what many of us here already know… the food, fun, and excitement on hand at local hotspot Chicken N Pickle.
City leaders then took NLC representatives on a bus tour of the world-class attractions at EpicCentral, The Summit, PlayGrand Adventures, Bolder Adventure Park, Epic Waters, The Epic, and our state-of-the-art the public safety building.
“The one thing that makes EpicCentral unique is that the city owns it, that the city is invested in it and that we are a part of the success of the site,” said Zane King, creative producer for EpicCentral. “We’re all working toward the goal of making this an exceptional place for the citizens of Grand Prairie and one of the Top 5 destinations in the state of Texas.”
The visit coincides with the ICC Men's T20 World Cup at the newly renovated Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium with matches broadcast worldwide, giving this vibrant community the exposure it deserves to viewers around the globe.
It also comes days after the exciting news TopGolf is expected to open for business next year near the newly constructed Bass Pro Shop and Andretti’s Indoor Karting.
“We’ve really been impressed, not only with the hospitality but the incredible work that’s happening here in Grand Prairie, Texas.” Griffith said.
Mayor Jensen said there’s even more in the works for Grand Prairie residents, businesses and visitors.
“We’re still expanding,” Jensen said. “We’ve got new things on the horizon in the next few months. Just hang on. More to come!”
