Lake Closures In Effect Until Further Notice

Updated 12:30 p.m. Saturday August 17, 2024 - The spill that led to the lake closures announced Friday has been contained and no public drinking water supplies have been threatened or contaminated, according to the Trinity River Authority.

Lynn Creek Park and Loyd Park, are closed until further notice as well as Britton Park for day use, following a sewer break, reported by the Trinity River Authority Friday. The closure will remain in effect until the break is fixed and water quality tests determine the water is safe.

This includes access to all city boat ramps. Campers at Loyd Park have been contacted and advised not to enter the water.

Lynn Creek Marina and boat ramp are also closed. Please avoid the water in the affected area until further notice.

TRA has stopped the flow of sewage and is mobilizing to begin remediation.
