Library Social Worker

The Library employs a Social Worker to help library users with a variety of issues.

Anne Marie Holstead is a Licensed Master’s Social Worker who specializes in child development, trauma, and supporting family relationships. She will be available to help you navigate anything from food and housing insecurity, to emotional and social needs, or grief and domestic violence.

Anne Marie has her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work from Baylor University. She can:

  • guide parents with questions about early childhood development, navigating the school system and advocating for your child’s needs
  • help teens with their questions about mental health and managing peer, social and family relationships
  • assist residents with navigating mental health challenges, locating resources, and self-advocacy

Schedule a one-on-one, virtual appointment by contacting Anne Marie at aholstead@gptx.org or by phone at 972-237-5797. Appointments can take place in person at the Main Library or on the phone. Learn more about the Library Social Worker and see a list of community resources.
