STEM Events at the Libraries

The Libraries love to encourage curiosity and scientific exploration in our young readers. Join us for these great programs  on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) topics. Many feature special community guests! Note that some require pre-registration, although all programs are free.

Full STEAM Ahead (Ages 6-10)

Have fun exploring Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math topics through hands-on activities, expert engagements, experiments, games and more!

Imagination Playground (Ages 2+)

Join us for Imagination Playground! Imagination Playground encourages unstructured, child directed free play with blocks.

Note: All children must be with an adult.

Select Wednesdays and Thursdays 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Little STEAMers (Ages 3-5)

All aboard this STEAM-based storytime! Explore with your child as they tap into their innate curiosity to discover the world around them.

Balance and Build (All Ages)

We’re feeling wobbly! Look, learn, and create your own kinetic sculptures with educators from the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. Designed for all children and their families.

Star Party (All Ages)

Take a peek at planets and the moon through high powered telescopes with an amateur astronomer. Dress for the weather!

Block Party (All ages)

Let your imagination flow with unstructured block play. Build big, build small. What can you create?

Snake Encounters (All Ages)

Celebrate the Year of the Snake by busting myths and exploring facts about our slithery friends with magician, educator, and herpetologist Daryl Sprout!

Spring Break Tech (Ages 6-12)

Get techy and innovative with our Tech Truck friends from the Perot Museum of Nature and Science!
